Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Anadolu University Open Education System plays an essential role in overcoming educational problems of Türkiye not only by providing open and distance education to 1 million active students and 3.5 million graduates but also by developing specific projects. Besides with those numbers, the system is among the mega universities of the world. By the constantly renewing method of open and distance education, it implements many initiatives and innovations in the Turkish Higher Education System.

Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Field Qualifications

#	Field Qualifications
1	Develops and deepens knowledge in the same or in a different field to the proficiency level based on Bachelor level qualifications.
2	Describes the interdisciplinary interaction which the field is related with.
3	Has the ability to communicate the knowledge about field to employees and colleagues.
4	Has the ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate the knowledge about the field systematically and analytically.
5	Is able to interpret, analyze data, identify problems, and suggest resolution advisories in his/her decisions, practices and behavior using field knowledge.
6	Conducts studies that require proficiency in the field independently.
7	Takes responsibility as a team member or project coordinator in accordance with project objectives.
8	Sets vision, goals and objectives for the organization/institution.
9	Evaluates gathered knowledge and skills critically.
10	Communicates his/her knowledge, thoughts and recommendations about the field by written and oral ways to those concerned.
11	Communicates with peers who study in the field.
12	Communicates both in written form and orally with peers by using a foreign language at least at a level of B2 in the European Language Framework.
13	Uses informatics, communication technologies, and computer software required by the field for data entering and data analysis in advanced level.
14	Behaves according to the organisational, institutional, work-related, and social ethical values.
15	Analyzes and administers the relationship between organization and its stakeholders efficiently.
16	Provides original contribution to studies related the field.
17	Achieves awareness about the universality of social rights, social justice, quality and cultural values and environment protection, job security and health.
