Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Profile of the Programme

The Programme of Primary School Education is a bachelor's degree programme in the Department of Primary Education in the Faculty of Education. There are some required courses which include field knowledge, teaching profession, general culture and practice in this programe. Students can also take elective courses. Lessons are carried out theoretically and practically. Theoretical courses are carried out in classes equipped with technological facilities. Practical courses are given in three academic terms with the collaboration of the Faculty of Education, Provincial Directorate of National Education, and training schools and with the supervision of course teachers and teachers in training schools. The Programme of Primary School Education is an interdisciplinary field of study based on science and social sciences. Programme of Primary School Education was founded in the academic year of 1998 to train Primary School teachers for the first stage of Primary Education (1st - 5th grades). It has accepted students since the academic year of 1998-1999. Until 2003-2004 academic year one hundred students were accepted to the programme each year. In the academic year of 2004-2005 the number of students has decreased from 100 to 80. Until 2010-2011 academic year, the number of students increased to 100. The Programme of Primary School Education in Faculty of Education, which is located at Anadolu University, has 1 professor, 3 Associated professor 5 assistant professors, 4 research assistants. The decisions about the programme are made by the department academic board consisting of the head of department, two deputy heads of department and heads of programmes.
