Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A minimum of one mid-term and final written exam are made per each course for the evaluation purposes. However they would be realized as an applied study or be delivered verbally in the circumstance of acceptance by the board of concerned faculty unit. The examination dates are determined by the board of concerned faculty unit and announced to the students two weeks prior to the exams.The success of the student is determined according to the mid-term and final exam grades together with the condition examination if applicable. The grades during a term are determined in accordance with the assignments, applied studies or other practical course work together with a minimum of one mid-term exam.In case of absence during an exam with a legitimate excuse accepted by the university senate a makeup exam is made with the decision of the concerned faculty unit in the credit system.Students requesting a makeup exam have to apply by a petition submitted to the head of the concerned faculty unit with a document indicating their excuse five days prior to the announced exam date.The weighing of grading elements such as examinations, projects, assignments etc. are determined by the course instructor and submitted to the department head and announced to the participants during the first two weeks of classes. The weighing of grading elements excluding final examination should remain in a minimum rate of %30 and/or a maximum of %60. Total evaluation of a grade will be assessed by the instructor (as a letter grade such as AA, AB, BB etc.) in accordance with the grade point average of the total amount of students participated in the course.
