Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Anadolu University Open Education Faculty plays an essential role in overcoming educational problems of Türkiye not only by providing open and distance education to 1 million active students and 4 million graduates but also by developing specific projects. Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

1. Weeks	Introduction to the course objectives, expectations, and the graduation thesis process. Discussion of topic selection principles and sample research topics.
2. Weeks	Formulating a research question. Defining scope and objectives. Evaluation of preliminary topic proposals.
3. Weeks	Research methodology in archaeology: typological, comparative, chronological, and literature-based approaches. Review of students’ methodological outlines.
4. Weeks	Types of academic sources: excavation reports, catalogues, monographs, and journal articles. Criteria for selecting reliable scholarly sources.
5. Weeks	Footnote-based citation system. Practical exercises on correct and incorrect referencing through sample texts.
6. Weeks	Preparation of a preliminary outline: chapter and subchapter structure. In-class discussion of students’ draft outlines.
7. Weeks	(Midterm Week)
8. Weeks	Writing the introduction chapter: required components and common mistakes. Analysis of sample introduction texts.
9. Weeks	Research history (state of research): chronological and thematic organization of previous studies.
10. Weeks	Evaluation of research history drafts. Addressing language, style, and redundancy issues.
11. Weeks	Structure of catalogue-based and data-driven studies (object groups, architectural groups, find assemblages, etc.). Introduction to catalogue methodology.
12. Weeks	Principles of visual material usage: figures, plates, captions, and references. Text–image integration exercises.
13. Weeks	General evaluation of Chapter I drafts and individual feedback.
14. Weeks	End-of-term evaluation. Overall review of written work and guidance for revisions to be continued in the spring semester
