Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

General Information

Education of Children with Developmental Disabilities

Developmental disabilities include children with mental deficiency and autism spectrum disorder.

In recent years, there is significant increase in the number of schools and centers for the education of children with developmental disabilities in our country. However, the number of personnel equipped with adequate skills in teaching is limited in these institutions and organizations.

The purpose of the Master's Degree Programme (non-thesis) in Education of Children with Developmental Disabilities is to provide graduate-level education that contains new developments about characteristics, needs and education of these children. The target audience of the programme is those who work at private educational institutions and organizations and who want to improve themselves in this area. The programme is open to teachers who want to be trained and develop themselves in the field.

Those who complete this programme take the title of specialist in the area of the education of children with developmental disabilities. Although this programme does not give a teaching diploma, graduates of this programme can work as non-permanent teachers at private educational institutions which provide services for children with developmental disabilities. However, currently the Ministry of Education does not assign graduates of this programme as teachers.

This programme is a non-thesis master’s programme which offers education through distance education. To apply for the programme the applicants must be a graduate of any programme of a Faculty of Education.
