Vice Rector

Professor Köksal BÜYÜK

Prof. Dr. Köksal Büyük graduated from the Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Dumlupınar University, in 2001. Following his undergraduate studies, he began his academic career as a research assistant at the same university, where he also completed his master’s degree. In 2009, he earned his PhD in Strategic Management from the Institute of Social Sciences at Sakarya University. He then continued his academic journey as an Assistant Professor at Çankırı Karatekin University. In 2013, a year after joining Anadolu University, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor.

Between 2012 and 2014, Prof. Dr. Büyük served as an advisor to the president of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), focusing on the internationalization of higher education. From 2014 to 2019, he directed the Strategic Research and Application Center (ANASAM) at Anadolu University. Concurrently, he led the AÖF Learning Technologies R&D Unit (LTR) from 2015 to 2018 and oversaw programs in the Balkans, Azerbaijan, and Cyprus between 2015 and 2017. From 2016 to 2019, he coordinated the AÖF North America Programs, playing a key role in establishing examination centers across the United States and Canada. Most recently, from 2021 to 2023, he held the roles of Rector’s Advisor and Digital Education Coordinator at Ankara University.

Prof. Dr. Büyük began his professional career in 1993 as Chairman of the Board at Yeni İletişim ve Yayıncılık A.Ş. Over the past 30 years, he has held numerous mid- and senior-level management positions across the private sector, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations. His academic portfolio includes 3 articles indexed in WoS/Scopus, along with 13 other national and international journal articles, 6 conference papers, 9 book chapters, and 7 edited volumes. He has also contributed to 41 projects—both as a manager and researcher—many of which were supported by organizations such as the European Union and TÜBİTAK.

Prof. Dr. Köksal Büyük currently serves as the President of the Digital Technologies and Education Association.
