    Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

    Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

    At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student will be able to recognize the conceptualizations of history as a phenomenon and history as science, including the question of what history is.
  • The student will be able to understand the development process of the word history, the efforts to turn it into a regular discipline, and the studies carried out in the Ancient Greek world.
  • The student will be able to realize the mental transformation that emerged in the view of existence, knowledge and values ​​with the Renaissance and Reformation movements in Europe.
  • The student will be able to critically evaluate the effects of the Renaissance and Reformation movements on historiography and philosophy of history in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.
  • The student will be able to understand the historical understanding of Enlightenment Philosophy in the 18th Century.
  • The student will be able to realize how discussions on the philosophy of history were explained through the basic concepts of the German idealist tradition in the 19th century.
  • The student will be able to understand the spread of the understanding of certainty, which was brought about by the developments in mathematics and physics in the 17th and 18th centuries, to other fields of science.
  • The student will be able to evaluate the effort to turn history into a law-making science, with the idea that the success of natural sciences comes from revealing the laws of nature.
  • The student will be able to understand how and in what way the Marxist Theory of History was shaped in the historical process.
  • The student will be able to learn the ideas that suggest that those who are not represented also have a history.
