    Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

    Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

    At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Learning Outcomes

  • recognize the distinguishing polymeric properties of elastomeric materials and their position in the technological classification of polymers.
  • The student will acquire the capability of summing up the chemical structures, molecular properties, physical/chemical properties, and the areas of use of major rubbers.
  • The student can consider the chemical structure of a particular rubber to estimate i) its resistances to oil/fuel, heat, and ozone, and ii) suitable vulcanization systems.
  • interpret the following properties and their effects on the use of rubber at a fundamental level: Viscosity, rheometry, hardness, stress/strain, tear, abrasion, resilience, viscoelasticity, creep/stress relaxation, low-temperature flexibility, electrical, permanent set, heat resistance, fluid resistance, and ozone resistance.
  • The student will do the related calculations using ageing data.
  • The student will recognize at a basic level the types of compounding materials, their functions, their dispersion behavior in the polymer, and their contributions to compound cost.
  • The student can describe the vulcanization process, types of vulcanization, and the properties vulcanization confers to rubber.
  • The student will do torque and time (scorch, cure) calculations on the vulcanization (rheometer) curve.
  • explain the process of making a rubber compound.
  • The student will do the calculations concerning recipes, dosing, fill factor, and cost of rubber compounds.
  • The student will be capable of describing the outlines of the processes of converting rubber compounds into products.
  • The student can name rubber products and their methods of production.
