    Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

    Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

    At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Learning Outcomes

  • Define pharmacology science, drugs and drug types.
  • 1.1. Define pharmacology and branches of pharmacology.
  • 1.2. Define the drug, its propoerties, sources and doses.
  • 1.3. Define pharmaceutical processes and drug types and to prepare some of these drugs.
  • Describe the drugs administration routes, effects and disposition of the drugs in the body along with drug interactions and side-harmful effects
  • 2.1. Know drug administration routes and absorbtion mechanisms.
  • 2.2. Describe drug distribution, metabolism and elimination
  • 2.3. Know the basic concepts on mechanism of action, effects, interaction and side-harmful effects of the drugs.
  • Define nervous system (central and autonomous nervous system) drugs.
  • 3.1. Know the central processing unit (neuron) and communication mediators.
  • 3.2. Know the synapses and junctions along with the physiological processes to
  • 3.3. Know the basic knowledge on the drug groups (analgesics, anaesthesic, muscle relaxants, hypnotics, sedatives, parasymphatomimetics, parasymphatolytics, sempatomimetics, sympatholytics) acting on nervus system.
  • Define chemotherapy, concepts and some important drugs on veterinary chemotherapy.
  • 4.1. Define chemotherapy and chemotherapeutics.
  • 4.2. Define the main features on antibiotics, anthelmintics, ectoparasitic drugs, antiseptics and disinfectants.
  • Acquire basic knowledge on system drugs.
  • 5.1. Know the basic knowledge on hormones and autocoids.
  • 5.2. Know the basic knowledge on diuretics, gastrointestinal, respiratory and cardiovascular drugs.
  • Acquire basic knowledge on drug residues in animal-origin foods, authorisation-disribution-control of veterinary drugs.
  • 6.1. Know the basic concepts in drug residues in animal-origin foods along with the scientific and legislational approach for the reasons, effects, control and prevention of residues.
  • 6.2. Know the rules, authorisation, distribution, marketing and control (monitoring) of veterinary drugs.
  • Define the toxicology science in general with respect to toxins and toxicant concept.
  • 7.1. Know toxicology, toxins, sources of toxications and doses of toxins.
  • 7.2. Define the routes of exposure and the disposition in the body of toxins.
  • 7.3. Know the effects and the basic concepts of the toxic substances (poisonous plants and active compounds, mycotoxins, mineral substances, pesticides etc.) and the basic concepts.
  • Know the basic information on doping, types of doping, doping/ethical issues, doping control in horse in Turkey.
  • Know the basic concepts of environmental pollution; examine the reasons, short-and long-term effects and precautions-preventative solutions within the frame of this issue.
