Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences, founded in 1958, formed the basis of Anadolu University. The Academy was replaced by Anadolu University in 1982, which has gained a well-deserved place as a modern, dynamic and innovative institution among the largest universities not only in Türkiye, but also in the world.

Anadolu University Open Education System plays an essential role in overcoming educational problems of Türkiye not only by providing open and distance education to 1 million active students and 3.5 million graduates but also by developing specific projects. Kısa adıyla BAP (Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri), yüksek öğretim kurumlarındaki bilimsel araştırmaların desteklenmesi amacıyla geliştirilmiş bir uygulamadır. Bu uygulama YÖK'ün 01.01.2002 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere yürülüğe aldığı Yükseköğretim Kurumları Bilimsel Araştırma Projeleri Hakkında Yönetmelik uyarınca gerçekleştirilmektedir. Üniversitemizin tüm öğretim elemanları BAP Komisyonuna başvurarak bilimsel araştırmaları için kaynak alabilirler.

At Anadolu University, social and cultural activities are as important as education and scientific research. The University frequently holds scientific events such as conferences, seminars, panels, congresses and symposia, and cultural activities such as exhibitions, stage performances and concerts. In addition to smaller conference halls in each unit, Atatürk Culture and Arts Center, Congress Center and Cinema Anadolu on Yunusemre Campus house many activities throughout the year.

Field Qualifications

#	Field Qualifications
1	accumulate and develop theoretical and applied knowledge in the communications field based on undergraduate proficiencies.
2	determine and define basic problems and issues relating to the field.
3	have knowledge of press and publication research methods at masters level.
4	use theoretical and applied knowledge acquired in the press and publication field at masters level.
5	analyze and interpret knowledge systematically in relation to the field and to possess evaluation skills.
6	use quantitative and qualitative research methods at an advanced level related to the field.
7	determine a problem in the field, find a solution, apply the solution, evaluate results and to apply when needed.
8	perform studies independently and as a member of a group.
9	evaluate knowledge and skills related to the field critically and to orientate learning requirements.
10	orientate development related to the field.
11	evaluate current developments in the field and to support one’s studies with written, oral and visual data, both quantitative and qualitative.
12	analyze, develop and orientate social relations and their establishing norms in accordance with a critical approach.
13	maintain oral and written communication by employing at least a one foreign language at European Language Portfolio B2 General Level.
14	use information and communication technologies employing the required computer software.
15	teach and comply with social, scientific and ethical values in gathering, interpreting and presenting the data phases in the press and publication field.
16	interpret, develop strategies and applications in press and publication and evaluate them in accordance with the stated goals.
17	use the skills and knowledge inherent in press and publication for the purpose of scientific and social contribution.
