Theatre Anadolu
This theatre group stages a wide variety of classical and modern plays. Throughout the year, the company performs periodically, raising its curtain to a cosmopolitan audience of students, university staff, faculty members, and the Eskişehir community as a whole. The performers comprise both faculty members and students. Anadolu University is very proud to host this amateur group with high professional standards, which provides a bridge between the university and the community.
Folk Dance Ensemble
Over the years, Anadolu University has conducted research in Turkish folklore, local customs, and traditions which has resulted in a wealth of resources. This accumulation helped Anadolu University establish a student folk dance ensemble in 1980. This ensemble has performed in national and international folk dance festivals and received many trophies and awards. Among the countries in which the ensemble has performed are Austria, Germany, Canada, Italy, Yugoslavia, The Netherlands, France, Mexico, USA, and the United Kingdom. Today, the ensemble is invited to many folk dance festivals for special appearances. The ensemble’s performances of ‘Local to Universal’ accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra enhanced with traditional folk music instruments, and The Youth Choir, receives widespread attention.
The Youth Choir
This particular group has been performing music and giving concerts both in Eskişehir and various cities around Turkey. 50 students, male and female, constitute the choir and are trained by distinguished musicians.
Anadolu Symphony Orchestra
Anadolu University has established the Anadolu Symphony Orchestra to promote the appreciation of classical music. The orchestra has enjoyed success performing in different cities and countries, and in the recent years has become one of the permanent groups participating in the Eskişehir International Festival.
Turkish Classical Music Ensemble
Established in 1976, this is one of the oldest performing art groups at Anadolu University. The members of the ensemble are students from different programs of the university. The ensemble performs periodically and has a wide repertoire. It has gained the appreciation and the admiration of public audiences in Eskişehir and other cities around Turkey.
Turkish Folk Music Ensemble
Anadolu University Turkish Folk Music Ensemble has had numerous performances with great success since its establishment. It has a rich repertoire encompassing all regions and different folklore styles. Almost all members of the ensemble are students from various programs of the university. The ensemble has given concerts in Eskişehir and cities around Turkey.
Anadolu Haber
The ‘Anadolu Haber’ is a weekly, student-published newspaper which includes news to be shared among students, different programs, and the community. With a circulation of five thousand, Anadolu Haber provides a common frame of reference for the university community. This paper is distributed within the university; in addition, other institutions and organizations outside the university receive copies.
TVA - Television Anadolu
The University television channel TVA combines the years of accumulated experience of the Distance Education Faculty and the Faculty of Communication. The programs broadcast concentrate on topics such as education, culture, and art. The aim is to set an example of excellence in public broadcasting. TVA provides broadcasting, programming and technological practice opportunities to students and prepares them for their professional future.
Radio A - FM 101.7
Radio A is a student-run radio station providing news and music round the clock. By broadcasting academic, cultural, and social news of the university, it provides a welcome bridge between the university and the community. Radio A listeners enjoy a variety of newscasts as well as music of different genres.
Student Clubs
Anadolu University encourages student clubs of different interests, varying from cultural/performance,, service/social to science and media. Anadolu University believes that student clubs make an important contribution to the complete education of students. The members enjoy meeting fellow students who have similar interests. They share experiences that they will carry with them even after graduation.
Student Council
Anadolu Student Council is made up of elected student representatives from each faculty and school, plus the presidents of student clubs. The members of the council form their own administrative hierarchy. The council discusses problems related to students and conveys their views to the university administration. The head of the Student Council attends the University Senate and the Executive Committee Meetings upon invitation from the Rector when matters pertinent to student affairs are to be discussed.
Alumni Association
Anadolu University Alumni Association is founded as a means of communication among graduates and to establish support programs and services for students, the community, and the alumni. The Association has undertaken the promotion of the university programs as well as providing in-service or on-the-job training to students enrolled in various programs of the university.
