  1. Manuscripts should be printed or typewritten on A4 or 8.5"x11" papers with a minimum of 1.5 and a maximum of double line spacing. The original and all reproductions of the manuscripts must be legible. Margins on the page should be at least 2 cm. Page numbers must be placed at the bottom or in the upper right corner. Font size should be at least 10 pt.

  2. First page of the manuscript should include title, authors’ names and institutions, an abstract, and keywords (min. 3, max. 7). Title, abstract, and keywords must be provided both in English and Turkish. However, in the case of articles in English, the editors may undertake the translation should the authors can not write in Turkish. Corresponding author should be indicated by a footnote and besides his/her full mailing address, a fax number, if available, and an e-mail address should also be provided. In addition, supporting agencies, etc. may also be indicated by a footnote on the first page.

  3. The abstract should not exceed 200 words for reviews and research articles, 100 for technical notes and 50 for letters to the editor. Equations, citations, uncommon abbreviations, and the like should not be included in the abstract.

  4. The text should start with the Introduction on the second page, and be divided into appropriate sections. Sections must be numbered consecutively. Section headings must be written in upper case with their numbers (as “1. INTRODUCTION”) and centered. Sections may be divided into subsections as necessary. Subsections must be numbered as “1.1”, “1.2”, etc., using the section number. Subsection headings must be written left justified with their numbers and the first letter of each word must be capitalized. The final section must be Conclusion(s)/Discussion. References and, if any, Acknowledgements and Appendices must follow this section. Figure captions, figures, and tables must be prepared on separate pages and attached at the end of the manuscript.

  5. Manuscripts, including figures and tables, should not exceed 50 pages for reviews, 35 for research articles, 20 for technical notes, and 10 for letters to the editor.

  6. Units should conform to a unit system (preferably SI).

  7. Latin names should be provided for all the species, except for standart experimental animals.

  8. Non-standart notation and abbreviations must be defined as they first appear in the text. Alternatively, they may be defined in the Introduction or in a following section.

  9. Equations and formulas must be numbered consecutively and their number must be written right justified in parantheses. They must be referenced within the text by using their numbers in parantheses. Complex chemical formulas unsuitable for the text must be prepared as figures.

  10. All drawings, complex chemical formulas, graphics, photographs, etc. should be regarded as figures. A copy of each figure should be attached to the manuscript. Original figures which are ready for reproduction should be sent upon the acceptance of the manuscript. Figures should be numbered consecutively. In the text, they should be referred as "Figure 1". An appropriate caption should be used for each figure and typed on a separate page with the figure number.

  11. Tables should be numbered consecutively. In the text, they should be referred as "Table 1". An appropriate heading should be used for each table and typed at the top of the table with the table number.

  12. Citations to other publications should be made in the text by using surname of the author and year as "(Author, 1999)" or "Author (1999)". For publications with two authors, surnames of both authors should be used as "(Author and Author, 2000)" or "Author and Author (2000)". Publications having more than two authors should be cited by giving only the surname of the first author as "Author et al.", and by typing the year in the aforementioned manner. Cited publications should be listed alphabetically in the References according to the surnames of the first authors. To sort publications with the same first author, the surname of the second and following authors should be used. Publications of the same authors should be sorted according to their year of publication chronologically. Publications which have the same authors and publication years should be distinguished in the text by using lower case letters such as "1999a" and "1999b". Publications having three or more authors with the same first author and same year should be distinguished in the same manner. Surnames and initials of all authors must appear in the References. References should be written according to the following examples:

    Unpublished works may also be included in the References, if necessary.

  13. Five copies of the manuscript should be mailed or submitted personally to the relevant field editor. A cover letter stating that the manuscript is being submitted for consideration for publication in Anadolu University Journal of Science and Technology and indicating its type (review, research article, technical note, or letter to the editor) must accompany this submission. Furthermore, this letter should also clearly state that the manuscript has not been published previously, not been accepted for publication, and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere.

  14. Short biographies and photographs of the authors will be requested following the acceptance of Reviews and Research Articles. These will be published together with the manuscript with the authors’ consent. The length of the biographies must be such that the total space required for the biographies and photographs of all the authors of the same paper should not exceed one page of the journal.

  15. A Copyright Agreement will be signed among the author(s) and Anadolu University preceeding the publication of the accepted papers. In the case of quotations which require copyright clearence according to the Turkish Act on Intellectual and Artistic Works (Nr. 5846), all responsibility will be on the author(s).
